A new monument commissioned by the St.Thomas War Memorial Site Committee was unveiled in St. Thomas. The sculpture commemorates members of the Canadian Armed Forces who served in Afghanistan. The artist, Tyler Fauvelle, specializes in creating bronze statues that honour Canadian military history.
