<br>One of the most important skills to nail down early on in Dune: Awakening is traversal. Navigating the harsh and unforgiving landscape of Arrakis can prove challenging, especially early on in the game when you have limited supplies and resources at your disposal. And, if you die trying to traverse the desert, there are serious consequences, namely, losing some of your gear.<br><br> <br>Getting there required us to test everything we had learned so far, as it was the longest trek across Dune presented to us so far. Getting there took us through a stealth sequence, where we were tasked with the sight of gigantic eyes. As we did so, voices narrated various events surrounding the Fremen and Mauddib (although this would not be in reference to Paul per Dune: Awakening ‘s spin on the lore ). Completing this trial saw us receive a new task from Zantara: finding a moisture-sealed cave to acquire some Fremen compone<br><br> <br>Beyond that variety and the hundreds of hours of content expected in the base game, I was interested to hear where Funcom sees Awakening going in the future. While all movement to this point involved us crossing the open sands as little as possible, out of appropriate fear of sandworms, we needed to use the sandbike to cross a large open area. We knew it was a risk, but we did not leave anything behind in the base. Attempting to make that crossing led to our sandbike and us being devoured by one of Dune: Awakening ‘s sandwor<br><br> <br>Players can’t really work toward making Arrakis a better place , because it would have too big of an impact on the status quo of the world. Dune: Awakening will likely keep Arrakis in a constant state of open conflict with no hope for permanent solutions. While this isn’t a problem on its own, it does make me worry that there is no way to be invested in the game while also actively participating in the kind of harmful actions Herbert’s novels were meant to warn agai<br><br> <br>Then, as you progress, things start to “elevate more into a story and become connected to the wider story and the wider story arcs. Players will develop their own storylines that will integrate and form larger clans, larger groupings, and drive things in the deep desert gameplay, where you want them to sort of create their own storylines, but there still is that big overlap in story that players will interact wi<br><br>One of the most unique facets of Dune: Awakening is how logical it is. For example, as mentioned early on, staying in the shade helps keep your water supply draining slowly and helps you avoid sunstroke.
