On arrival, you’ll usually collect keys from reception or a check-in point, where someone can point you towards your caravan, talk you through anything specific to that unit, inquiry and flag opening times for the pool, clubhouse or shop if the park has them. It’s worth asking any questions at this point, staff on site tend to be used to first-time guests and are generally happy to run through anything that isn’t obvious.
Don’t forget the boring essentials either: any medication, chargers, a printed booking confirmation in case signal is patchy, and enough cash for small stalls or ice cream vans that don’t take cards. None of this needs to be complicated. Pack for changeable weather, bring comfortable shoes for more walking than you’d expect, and let the caravan’s kitchen do the rest. That’s really all a coastal break asks of you.
Ask how far the park actually is from the beach or the coast, in minutes rather than vague terms like “nearby”. A ten-minute drive and a forty-minute drive are both sometimes described the same way in marketing copy, so it’s worth checking a map or asking directly if walking to the coast matters to your plans.
If your trip is about a relaxed, self-catering base with room to actually live in for a few days, a static caravan holiday at one of our parks is worth a look. If it’s about a compact, everything-sorted stay in the middle of things, a hotel is the better fit.
