Private Servers. I know this is a social game but sometimes I want to do an RP with one or two friends that requires use of the dirt. It’s annoying to be lagging and trying to keep my dirt structures while I do the RP. Private servers could reduce lag from a million ponies and make life easier with those trying to utilize dirt structures in their RPs. Private servers also require a decent bit more resources than the four we have now.
The game is already struggling with the size it’s at, and expanding it would only put more stress on the system. Private servers aren’t something that can just appear . Some legitimate thought has to be put into how it’s going to be handled, dedicated server rent how resources can be balanced, and how game state can be synchronized inexpensively. There’s been talk of semi-private invite-only servers for supporters, but it’s been a couple of months since that was discussed and rent dedicated server it appears to still be a definite work in progress.
